I feel like a scientist because I discovered a thing! I thought it was an old bee (it had white fur) but after googling we found this is called a Bombylius major aka Bombyliidae aka a BEE FLY! Also called a humblefly, how cute–The last time we were home we saw another mini creature flying into flowers with a long beak. Four of us studied it and we were still divided. Half said it was a hummingbird and the others said it was a moth. Turns out it was a hummingbird moth. Never knew these things existed but its fun to take time to smell the flowers. Central Oregon has so many amazing flora and fauna due to its desert landscape. It’s such a nice change of scenery from the city and the quieter simpler life reminds me of home (upcountry).
